When Death Is Coming (Book 1) Summary

The “4” tattooed on the back of Corrie’s neck means she’ll die before she turns twenty.

The knowledge of death dates has become available to the world. Now, those with early death dates—the Threes and Fours—are forced to put their short lives to use in a labor camp called the Prime so the long-lived can thrive.

While Corrie tries to focus on using her leadership role to secretly create change in the Prime, her friend’s suspicious death makes her wonder how set in stone fate really is. In a search for the truth, Corrie finds the source of the death dates. She discovers that she has a family outside of the Prime…

…and her own death is even closer than she thought.

Facing rising questions about the world, her family, and her future, Corrie knows the answers lie outside of the Prime’s concrete walls. And if she can uncover them, then life must have a greater purpose—but can she find it before death arrives?

When Death Is Watching (Book 2) Summary

Aya Halidan has never trusted the death dates.

Most citizens of Cascadia are thankful to have a life of freedom before they receive their death notice. The announcement comes with an invitation to the Vivarium, a luxurious tower where they will receive “peace and comfort” for their final two weeks.

Aya, however, has been skeptical since her parents disappeared into a Pillar—the source of the death dates. Her suspicions grow into an obsessive need for the truth when her little brother Ren receives his untimely death notice.

When her search for answers leads to her death, Aya becomes trapped between realms, gifted with visions of the past and future. Yet the more she tries to prevent the dire future she sees, the further she is torn from Ren.

Desperate to stop death from taking her innocent brother so young, Aya dares to play with Fate—a risk that may fracture her reality for good.

When Death Is Hiding (Book 3) Summary

June refuses to worship the Fates who are trying to kill her.

While the people of Vegas Valley are devoted to the Fates and the mysterious Monolith they sent to earth, June blames these goddesses of life and death for her family’s curse—only one child in her family can survive at a time.

When her mother announces another child on the way, June’s life is at risk again.

Terrified of death, June seeks answers inside the Monolith, the giant cloud where the Fates are rumored to reside. Inside, she meets Clotho, the goddess of Fate who is losing control of life, death, and her emotions.

As Clotho grows attached to June, refusing to let her leave the Monolith, June becomes trapped in the goddess’s game of manipulation and lies. But June soon discovers that even if she can break her family’s curse and escape, Vegas Valley holds secrets of its own—secrets that put more than June’s life at risk.
